Christmas Market at The Hollingwood

HRA Xmas Market 2014The Hollingwood Resident’s Association Christmas Market, at The Hollingwood, proved a great success with over 30 stalls selling everything from dogs togs to trinkets – as well as well as Christmas items and decorations. HRA members are all volunteers who give up their time to organise village events throughout the year.

Remembrance Sunday 2014

Hollingwood 2014The Parish Remembrance Day service was held at the Staveley Memorial where the names of those from Barrow Hill and Hollingwood who died in two world wars are inscribed, along with others from the Staveley area.

Additional wreaths were laid at Barrow Hill, by the Fellowship of the Services and at Hollingwood by Hollingwood Residents Association, Royal Lancers, Hollingwood Elders and Staveley Independents.

Rededication of Barrow Hill War Memorial

The newly refurbished war memorial and garden at Barrow Hill were rededicated at a special service on Sunday 2nd November.

The parade was led by the Cresswell Colliery Brass Band and the service was conducted by the Rector of Staveley, Father Stephen Jones.

Wreaths were laid by representatives of service organisations, local community groups and relatives of casualties.
