Local residents were spoiled for choice today with lots of delicious cakes on offer at three coffee mornings in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support.
Events were held at Hollingwood Primary School, Hollingwood Community Room (formerly the Elders) and the Haven at Barrow Hill.
Remembering today, boy soldier Arthur Wedgwood, 15894, 1st Bn., Royal Scots Fusiliers, who died on 25th September 1915. Arthur was born at Midland Terrace, Barrow Hill and lied about his age to join the army. He was still only 17 years old when he was killed at the 2nd Battle of Bellewarde.
