Barrow Hill Primary School had a sneak preview of this weekend’s WW1 local history exhibition at St Andrew’s Church. One of them discovered that she lives in a house where a casualty had once lived and another found information about her great grandfather who was killed in WW2.
The exhibition will be open on Saturday 13th September from 10am – 4pm and reveals the stories of the local men behind the names on the memorials. Displays include Staveley Works Veterans, Boys at War, The Railwaymen, Sherwood Foresters and many more. Exhibits include Medal collections and Regimental Cap Badges. Bring along your family medals and other WW1 items for our “experts” to see.
